Witch’s Hut

Woodland witch hut terrain makes a dwelling part of a large twisted trunk rather than a house with straight exterior walls. A small door and windows sit near the base, giving the organic outline recognisable signs of habitation. The main photograph shows the complete model with a painted example.

Place the hut in a fantasy forest, beside a path or at the home of a particular campaign character. Its curved shape can contrast with the regular architecture of a nearby village, suggesting a residence that belongs to the woodland on its own terms. Landscape and objects surrounding the photographed model are used to establish the scene.

Decide why the characters need to visit the inhabitant and how much they know before approaching. A familiar appointment can use the same hut as an uncertain first encounter, with the campaign determining the atmosphere. Keep miniature positions reachable and agree any effects on access, cover and views through the system you are playing.

The hut comes unpainted, ready to prime and paint. Scale choices include 10, 15, 20, 28, 32 and 35 mm, with 28 mm as the default. Recessed shadows can define the trunk’s curves, while different colours around the small openings distinguish the home from the bark. Related forest tones can tie the unusual residence to the surrounding terrain.
