Medieval watermill terrain gives a riverside settlement a recognisable place of work. A waterwheel stands at the side of the building, while stone pillars support a sloping roof above the working area. The open structure reveals the central mechanism and the floor rather than concealing them behind a closed façade.

Position the mill beside a river or on the outskirts of a fantasy village to connect the building with the surrounding landscape. It can become the destination of a journey, a location where characters meet or a familiar landmark during a longer campaign. The main image presents the complete model; the remaining photographs help you examine its components and details before planning your scene.

Stone and timber provide contrasting textures to paint. You could distinguish the supports from the roof structure with separate tones, then use highlights to bring out the edges of the mechanism. Relating those colours to nearby houses or river terrain will help the mill feel part of the same place. The painted examples are references for your own finish.

Allow room around the building for moving miniatures and agree its role under your chosen rules. The scale selector includes 10, 15, 20, 28, 32 and 35 mm, with 28 mm as the default. Your watermill arrives unpainted, ready to prime and paint for the riverside scene you have in mind.
