Rocky cave entrance terrain creates a threshold between the open landscape and whatever lies beneath it. An irregular stone arch frames the central opening, with cracks and projecting rock breaking up its surface. Set it against the edge of a mountain scene, beside a winding path or at the point where a fantasy adventure moves underground.

The complete painted example in the main photograph gives a clear view of the entrance, while additional angles show its profile. Those rocky details offer plenty of opportunities to explore colour: darker recesses can suggest depth, and lighter edges can separate one outcrop from the next. Match the stone to nearby cliffs or choose a different finish to make the opening stand out as a landmark.

For a campaign, this entrance can be the place the party has been searching for, a route towards an unexplored cavern or a familiar meeting point on the return journey. Leave enough room in front of it to position miniatures and agree how the opening works within your chosen rules. Its role belongs to the scenario you create.
