City Foundations terrain introduces the idea of a former built environment beneath or around the buildings in your miniature scene. The reference can give context to streets and structures or represent the remains of a district that no longer survives in full. Its urban theme can support an encounter or a diorama centred on a city.

Consider what the foundations reveal within the story. They might be evidence of an older neighbourhood, the area an expedition has been asked to examine or the place where two groups arrive after following different routes. Those possibilities make the location significant without prescribing additional architecture or a particular game effect.

Relate the model to the construction and terrain already in your collection. Open spaces around it can establish an approach, while nearby buildings can show how the older remains connect with the present city. Decide where miniatures need to stand and resolve movement, cover and sightlines through the selected rules.

Choose from 10, 15, 20, 28, 32 and 35 mm scales, with 28 mm selected by default. Supplied unpainted, ready to prime and paint, the terrain can share ground colours with the surrounding streets or contrast with them as a rediscovered part of the settlement. Shading and restrained wear can help connect the location with the wider history you have given the city.
