Briarwood Gatehouse

Briarwood gatehouse terrain joins two residential buildings with a medieval wall and a central entrance. Each house combines stone at ground level with timber framing above, tiled pitched roofs, lattice windows and an exterior chimney. The result makes the boundary of a settlement feel inhabited rather than simply fenced off.

The wooden gate has a hinged main opening and a smaller secondary doorway. These provide two visibly different ways through the entrance, useful for showing access within a narrative encounter. A connecting stone wall extends the barrier between the buildings, helping establish which side of the structure lies inside the town.

Roofs and upper sections separate for interior access, so the houses can be used during the same scene as the gate. The set also includes wooden barrels and piles of rubble as separate scenic elements. The ensemble suits 28 mm and 32 mm miniature settings. Plan the approaches on both sides and decide which openings, rooms and wall positions your game will use.

The gatehouse arrives unpainted, ready to prime and paint. Related stone colours will connect the houses and wall, while different timber finishes can distinguish the central gate from domestic framing. Weathering around the threshold can suggest regular traffic. Any restrictions on movement or protection offered by the structure should come from the rules and scenario agreed by your group.
