24 Palimptra Road Tiles

Modular roads for urban wargaming terrain. This Palimptra pack includes twenty-four road tiles for creating routes across a gaming table. The designer image shows a reference arrangement with straight sections, a junction and detailed paving surfaces. The photograph presents part of the set and helps show its visual style. The pieces are supplied unpainted, allowing you to match the road to the buildings and ground used in your scenario.

Distribute the tiles between urban areas to mark routes and separate different parts of the tabletop. Prepare a main road, an approach to a building or a section connecting two important locations in a game. Before adding the rest of your terrain, check the space occupied by your chosen arrangement and leave suitable areas for moving miniatures and vehicles. Any effects on movement or cover should be agreed under your chosen rules; the appearance of the paving does not establish rules by itself.

When painting, a grey or earthy base colour can connect the pieces, with other shades reserved for joints and surface details. Variations in colour and painted dirt can link the road to a deteriorated city. Keeping a common palette allows the layout to change between games while retaining a consistent route. Consider the finish of nearby buildings when selecting the colours for the paving.

The default scale is 28 mm. You can also choose 10, 15, 20, 32 or 35 mm. Supplied unpainted, ready to prime and paint. Select your scale before adding the set to your basket.
