Wild West General Store

Wild West general store terrain gives a frontier main street a recognisable place of trade. The building combines two volumes of different heights, plank façades and a covered porch in front of the entrance. Windows and the timber structure add detail to the outline beyond the difference between the two main forms.

The main photograph shows the complete store unpainted, with other images revealing its sides and interior spaces. Painted examples offer ideas for ageing the façades before you choose your own finish. You can integrate it into a western town or use it as a particular commercial location within an adventure.

A delivery, a visit for supplies or an encounter outside the porch can each make a different part of the setting important. Arrange the neighbouring street with that purpose in mind and leave room for the miniatures involved. Determine cover, access and sightlines through your chosen rules rather than assuming fixed effects from the building’s role as a shop.

Scale choices are 10, 15, 20, 28, 32 and 35 mm, with 28 mm as the default. The store is supplied unpainted, ready to prime and paint. Contrasting the porch supports with the plank walls can clarify the frontage, while weathering along the lower façade can tie the building to the dust and use of the street around it.
