Dragon graveyard terrain gives a fantasy expedition a destination with a history older than the characters who find it. The Dragon Graveyard model can represent a forbidden burial place, the setting of a search or a location that rival groups have reached for different reasons. Its theme can anchor the encounter without dictating how that story must end.

Consider what drew the party here. An expedition sent to recover a relic creates a different scene from travellers who encounter the graveyard by accident. You can connect the location with the paths, buildings and surrounding terrain already in your collection, allowing the setting to belong to the wider landscape of your campaign.

Give the important parts of the encounter space around them when arranging the table. Players need to reach their miniatures as well as understand the routes through the scene. Resolve the effects of the terrain through your chosen rules and the objectives agreed for the session. The model can also form the centre of a diorama exploring the same theme.

Choose 10, 15, 20, 28, 32 or 35 mm, with 28 mm selected by default. Supplied unpainted, ready to prime and paint, the graveyard leaves its final mood to you. Colours related to the surrounding ground can root it in the landscape, while carefully placed shadows can strengthen the atmosphere of an ancient place rediscovered.
